Preparing for Easter, a time of renewal, reconciliation and re-commitment.
|Holy week and Easter is a time when we reflect on the realities of Jesus,
- Jesus Kingship (Palm Sunday).
- The Institution of the Eucharist and The Institution of the Priesthood (The Mass of the Last Supper).
- The Passion and death of Jesus (Good Friday).
- The Quiet Waiting, (Holy Saturday)
- The Glorious Resurrection of Jesus (Easter Vigil / Easter Sunday).
Central to all of this is the reality that Jesus Passion, Death & Resurrection are to reassure you, yes you, of Gods infinite love and care for you and his desire for us all to be reconciled to him.
Christians are often called an Easter People, not because of Good Friday but because of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday, the fulfilment of the Scriptures.
How can i prepare well to Journey with Jesus through his passion, death and resurrection?
Here are some suggestions
- By attending a Daily Mass
- By being reconciled with God and yourself through Confession before Easter!
- By reflecting on the great Sacrifice Jesus made on Good Friday by Praying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary.
- By taking time each day in silence to listen to the voice of God
- By reading the Passion accounts in the Gospels
- By praying a Morning Prayer/ Evening Prayer
The Journey with Jesus through his Passion Death and Resurrection will deepen your understanding of the depth of God’s love for you and give you the opportunity to become more reconciled with him in a true and lasting relationship.
Praying your Journey will be a Fulfilling one.
We Pray
Loving God, as we journey through this Lenten season and prepare for the glory of Easter, we ask for your grace and guidance. Help us to open our hearts to your love, to reflect on our lives, and to seek forgiveness for our shortcomings. May we be filled with the spirit of renewal and anticipation, ready to celebrate the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ, and the promise of eternal life. Amen.
