Jesus’ whole life was about service. Since Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, service is the way to truth and to life. In fact, service as a lifestyle is often rejected as being demeaning and beneath dignity, yet a life of service has become the cornerstone of our faith. The early Christians knew this. They appointed Stephen and six others to concentrate on service to the community’s needs.
