Palm Sunday Reflection: Hosanna in the Ordinary
On Palm Sunday, we hear the joyful cries of “Hosanna!” as Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a donkey—humble, peaceful, yet hailed as King.
People wave palm branches, laying their cloaks on the road, welcoming the Messiah they’ve long awaited.
· But this triumph is quiet. No warhorse, no crown of gold—just a carpenter from Nazareth riding on a borrowed animal, loved by fishermen, children, and the broken-hearted.
· As we hold our palm crosses this week, let’s remember: Jesus didn’t come to conquer with swords, but with love.
His victory wasn’t won in a palace, but on a cross.
· In our own lives, we often look for grand signs—big answers, dramatic changes. Yet God meets us in the simple, the humble, the everyday. In a kind word. A shared meal. A moment of patience.
· This Holy Week, let’s follow Jesus not just with palms in hand, but with open hearts—ready to see Him not only in the shouts of triumph, but in the quiet moments of love, sacrifice, and service.
May our “Hosanna” continue beyond Sunday—not just a cheer,
but a commitment to walk with Christ all the way to the cross, and beyond
