Pentecost Sunday is called the birthday of the church. This day celebrates the Holy Spirit coming to the followers of Jesus in a rush of wind and tongues of fire. The spirit gave them the gifts they needed to go forth and be church. These gifts vary – they are as differ-ent as we are. But we are all needed, and we are all members of one united body.
