God’s ways are mysterious. God’s decision to give us free choice seems mysterious, because we can choose evil as well as good. Jesus warns us not only to avoid murder but also to avoid anger, not only to avoid adultery but also to avoid lustful thoughts, not only to avoid false swearing but also to avoid all swearing. Good thoughts will lead to good actions and good habits.
