|In Leviticus strict religious laws are stated; the unclean are to be separated and not touched by others. In Corinthians religious laws are put into perspective; living as Jesus lived is more important than the specifics of our diet. But Jesus goes the distance in the Gospel. He doesn’t merely tell us that the old laws that are strict, disrespectful, and unnecessary are less important than our human interactions and the needs of others. He steps over the line by actually breaking the laws and bringing healing in the process. He touches the untouchable and suddenly the one he touches is no longer untouchable
