Message from Bishop Kevin Doran on the Opening of Coláiste Chiaráin in Athlone
On the historic occasion of the opening of Coláiste Chiaráin – I would like to send best wishes to the Principal Mr. Brendan Waldron, Deputy Principal Ms. Marguerite Quinlan, to the College Staff, the Students and their Parents.
I would like to acknowledge the two great educational traditions of St. Aloysius College and St. Joseph’s College that form the foundation of the new co-educational school …and to compliment and congratulate all involved in progressing the project over the last few years.
Through the intercession of the school patron, St. Ciarán, a wise and holy scholar, may these days of new beginning be just the start of a wonderful, bright future for second level education in the West Athlone, South Roscommon area.
We hope to mark the occasion in a formal manner later on in the first school term.
